As a therapist, I am a companion. I try to help people tune into their own wisdom.” Virginia Satir

Hi. I’m Brian, a licensed psychotherapist based in New York City. I work with people of diverse backgrounds, identities, ages, and lived experiences to help them live happier, more authentic lives.

I hold an undergraduate degree from Amherst College and a Master of Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. My clinical experience includes work with military veterans navigating trauma and psychotherapy with individuals and couples in a psychodynamic group practice. I have completed postgraduate training in contemporary psychoanalytic self psychology at the Institute for the Psychoanalytic Study of Subjectivity (IPSS) and am currently pursuing advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Psychoanalytic Association of New York (PANY), affiliated with NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent over a decade at a global investment and technology development firm, where I developed an interest in what drives people and how we cope with stress. That curiosity, along with experiences as a volunteer in hospitals, hospice, and HIV/AIDS organizations, led me to pursue psychotherapy, a practice grounded in empathy and a commitment to meaningful change.
